Russian troops have destroyed a French-made VAB armored personnel carrier in Kursk Region, Russia’s National Guard said on Telegram on Wednesday, publishing a video of the successful hit. The Western-supplied Ukrainian vehicle was struck by a kamikaze drone.
The Defense Ministry in Moscow said in its daily update that Ukrainian forces lost more than 350 soldiers and 25 pieces of equipment in Russia’s Kursk Region over the past 24 hours, including a tank and an infantry fighting vehicle.
Russian troops are continuing operations aimed at pushing the Ukrainians out of the border region, which was invaded by Kiev in early August.

Although the Ukrainian army managed to overrun several villages and capture the city of Sudzha during the early days of their rapid incursion, Russian troops have since liberated more than a dozen settlements in the area.
Developed in the 1970s, the VAB has been described by its manufacturer, Arquus, as “an iconic vehicle for the French Army.” Ukraine reportedly has dozens of these vehicles.
According to Russia’s National Guard, its soldiers previously destroyed many other Western-supplied systems, including US-made Stryker and M113 armored vehicles, and British-made FV432s.
Moscow has warned that no amount of foreign aid will stop its forces in Ukraine and will only increase the risks of a direct confrontation between Russia and NATO.
